Every store, on one map

I’m Krista Fracke, and this is the grocery map I wish every buyer had before choosing a neighborhood. Each store on it holds a state retail food permit from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, located from the chain’s own store list. Pick a chain to see only its stores.

How many of each, by county

St. Johns County has no Sam's Club, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods Market or Harris Teeter as of October 17, 2026.

The part nobody tells you: the Winn-Dixie on an old map may be an Aldi now

Aldi bought Winn-Dixie’s former parent company in 2024 and has been converting stores to Aldi ever since: nearly 90 by January 2026, with more than 200 planned by the end of 2027. The Winn-Dixie stores it is not converting were sold to an investor group in 2025, and in August 2026 C&S Wholesale Grocers announced a deal to become Winn-Dixie’s majority owner, expected to close in early 2027.

So a listing description or an older map that says “minutes from Winn-Dixie” can be out of date. At St. Johns Commons on County Road 210, for one, the grocery permit is now Aldi’s, while a Winn-Dixie liquor store in the same center kept its own. This list goes by the state permit, which you can check yourself in the FDACS Food Permit Center.

Common questions

Is there a Trader Joe's in St. Johns County?

Not as of October 17, 2026. The closest are in Jacksonville: 11112 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville and 4180 S 3rd St, Jacksonville Beach. By drive time that is 31 minutes from Nocatee, 15 minutes from Julington Creek and 23 minutes from Silverleaf.

Where is the closest Costco to Ponte Vedra, Nocatee and St. Augustine?

There are 3 Costco warehouses in the three counties: 4901 Gate Pkwy, Jacksonville, 8000 Parramore Rd, Jacksonville and 215 World Commerce Parkway, St. Augustine. The 215 World Commerce Parkway store is the one in St. Johns County.

Are Winn-Dixie stores turning into Aldi?

Some are. Aldi bought Winn-Dixie’s former parent in 2024, and by January 2026 it had converted nearly 90 of those stores, with more than 200 planned by the end of 2027. The Winn-Dixie stores it is not converting were sold to an investor group in 2025 and still operate as Winn-Dixie. This list follows the state permit, so a converted store shows up as an Aldi once its permit changes.

How current is this list?

It was built on October 17, 2026 from the state's grocery permits and each chain's own store list, and it is re-pulled every quarter. A new store appears once it holds its state permit.
