Bank-Owned (REO) Homes in Northeast Florida
2 homes · updated 20 minutes ago
Every Northeast Florida listing whose MLS remarks say bank-owned, lender-owned, REO or HUD: homes a lender or the government took back and now sells through a listing agent, as-is, on its own contract forms (the MLS’s own condition field is masked in the IDX feed, so the remarks are the record).

Frequently asked questions
What is a bank-owned home in Northeast Florida?
A home the lender took back at the foreclosure sale and now sells through a listing agent, flagged in the MLS as Real Estate Owned (REO). HUD-owned homes are the government’s version for FHA-insured loans. Both sell as-is on the seller’s contract forms, both can take financing in most cases, and both move on the seller’s timeline, which is slower than a private seller’s.
How do I make an offer on an REO?
Through the listing agent, on the bank’s addenda, usually with proof of funds or a pre-approval attached and a response window measured in business days rather than hours. Banks counter on price and strip contingencies, and the inspection period is the one to protect. I have the addenda read before the offer goes in.
