Jacksonville townhouses usually include one garage, and there are some neighborhoods that even have two car garage units. The floorplans average about 1,700 square feet with the kitchen, dining room, living room downstairs and the bedrooms on the second floor. Most townhouses being constructed today are wood frame construction or a combination of concrete block and wood frame. The homeowners are responsible for paying for hazard insurance.

When evaluating units for purchase, important things to remember to look for are the available parking near the townhomes. Sometimes the neighborhoods do not have guest parking next to your unit or even enough extra total parking to handle everyone?s guest cars.

When you buy a townhome you are also becoming a member of the homeowners association. The homeowners association is usually responsible for maintaining the common areas, the landscape areas, and making sure all the homeowners follow the rules. Homeowners are required to pay an association fee that covers these expenses.
