The Jacksonville Real Estate Market and the FCAT

Buying a new home in Jacksonville is a lot of work for parents. Trying to find a home in a neighborhood with great schools can be very difficult. Homebuyers looking for Jacksonville real estate now can use Google Maps to see the locations of the schools with the highest FCAT scores. School FCAT scores are available for all of the counties around Jacksonville including St Johns County, Clay, and Nassau as well as the whole state of Florida for comparison.

It is important for home buyers without children to consider the quality of the schools in their home’s area. If the schools by your home score low on the FCAT, it could be more difficult to sell your home. Many buyers won’t buy a home in a neighborhood with poor schools. Great schools almost always increase the value of real estate around them.

About the FCAT

The FCAT is a test administered in all public Florida schools. The test is given annually to students in select grade levels in elementary, middle, and high school in February and March. Public schools are given a grade based on the results of the test. The grades range from “A” to “F” with an “A” being the highest grade.
