Museums and Galleries
No matter ones taste in art, Jacksonville is chalk full of museums and galleries. The Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville (or MOCA) is home to both contemporary and modern art – with paintings, sculpture, photography. With regular exhibitions, something new is always available at MOCA. The Cork Arts District is an 80,000 square foot warehouse space with artist studios and galleries. This ever evolving space is only open by appointment or for events, and is contemplating the addition of space for live music venue and space dedicated to the performing arts. To experience art in the downtown core, be sure to participate in the Art Walk on the first Wednesday of each month. Art Walk has ever evolving themes with no two walks ever the same.
