Jacksonville is the place to be if you want good food, lively nightlife and a historical feel. Jax is the place not just to visit, but also to live. This article will tell you about Jacksonville’s best restaurants.

The French Pantry

With both French and American cuisine, this family restaurant is well-loved in Jacksonville. You’ll have to bear some long lines, but you won’t regret it, especially when there is a lemonade stand to keep you cool while you wait. Freshly-made breads and cakes are The French Pantry’s speciality, but their sandwiches are also the talk of the town.

Bb’s

Another local favorite, bb’s has a diverse menu and amazing top-notch service. While their desserts are fabulous, you’ll want to try the calamari, it’s apparently the best you’ll ever have. The food is dubbed as fusion with a mix of American continental with international influences. There are daily specials and all of the regular dishes for lunch and dinner.

Restaurant Orsay

Another French restaurant, this one is definitely worth raving about. Other referred to as “the best” restaurant in Jax, the food is exemplary. With a modern, chic bar seating area for their many great cocktails or a formal area for a more romantic option, Restaurant Orsay is everything you’d want in a restaurant. Responsibly-produced ingredients are the chef’s main focus at this restaurant, with many local providers of the food on your plate. The raw bar is fantastic and features cold water oysters and wild caught shrimp. The gluten-free and vegan menus are large enough to please everyone at your table.

Ovinte

How do truffle fries, charcuterie, stuffed dates, arancini, tapas and more sound? These are just some of the delicious offerings at Ovinte, a restaurant focusing on modern Spanish and Italian style cuisine. Encouraging sharing, tasting and exploring, their menu is diverse and offers many small plates. Happy hour offers you $6 hand-crafted cocktails and wines and $5 tapas. Or, you can simply choose from three to five cheese and charcuterie choices and make yourself a beautiful platter, filled also with local fresh honeycomb, Marcona almonds and seasonal fruit.

Maple Street Biscuit Company

This innovative restaurant is one of the little hidden gems in Jacksonville. With community style seating, you’ll want to meet and talk to your neighbors. Starting with the most amazing buttermilk biscuit, you can choose your biscuit creation and these include fried chicken with sausage gravy, fried chicken with pecan wood smoked bacon and real maple syrup, a fried egg with collard greens and hot sauce, goat cheese and sautéed spinach and so much more. Sides are just as delicious and diverse like hashups, rural oatmeal, smokey mountain mac-n-cheese and even fried green tomatoes.
