Landing Merchants look to Sleiman rather than Peyton
It seems that local property developer Toney Sleiman has more pull and more standing with Jacksonville Landing merchants than Mayor John Peyton. Landing businesses are looking to Mr Sleiman to help them do better business if he is allowed to buy the land under the Landing.
Many of these merchants are voicing their concerns and opinions to the council, hoping that the mayor reverses himself again and allows Mr Sleiman to buy the land he wants.
Meanwhile, some merchants are betting on the future by planning bigger and better stores at the Landing.
